We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the arts, culture, and education based in Manzanita Oregon. Listed below are the projects we sponsor for writers and artists with connections to the north Oregon Coast.

The Hoffman Center Gallery provides artists an opportunity to exhibit their art and engage our community in learning about and enjoying art. We seek well crafted artwork in a diversity of media and intriguing subject matter. The submission period for the 2026 Gallery is August 15-September 30, 2025.

Community Writes is an online publication of the Hoffman Center for the Arts. Writers with a connection to north Oregon coast communities are invited to share writing that focuses on a specific prompt. The next submission period: TBA.

The North Coast Squid is a literary magazine showcasing work of writers and artists who live in our community or have a strong connection to the area.  The submission period for the upcoming issue is May 1-31, 2025.

Neahkahnie Mountain Poetry Prize: The first 50 North Coast poets to submit during January will compete for a $100 prize. Submissions for 2025 are complete.  The next contest will be open for submissions January 1 -31, 2026.

Word & Image pairs 12 writers and 12 artists for a collaborative project that results in an exhibition and a book of linked artwork and writing. Submissions for the next project will be accepted Spring 2026.
